DEBUG_LOG_TCPGUI
Platforms
All non-z/VM, starting with LISTSERV 14.3
Abstract
Show fully-logged TCPGUI commands for debugging purposes.
Example
z/VM: |
(not supported) |
Unix: |
DEBUG_LOG_TCPGUI=1 export DEBUG_LOG_TCPGUI |
Windows: |
DEBUG_LOG_TCPGUI=1 |
Details
By default, LISTSERV truncates overly long TCPGUI command lines to make logs less cumbersome. A site configuration file variable called DEBUG_LOG_TCPGUI is available, defaulting to 0.
When set to 1, all commands starting with 'X-' are logged in full, with no size limit.
WARNING: Enabling TCPGUI debugging can make logs very large. Therefore L-Soft strongly recommends customers should not leave this option enabled for long periods. It should be used only for debugging purposes, and disabled after troubleshooting has been completed. |
WARNING: When this setting is enabled (set to 1), passwords issued via imbedded commands from the web interface will not be redacted from the log. For instance, when changing one's password via the "Change Password" link, the new password will be printed in plain text as part of the embedded PW REP command. Again, we strongly recommend that TCPGUI debugging should not be left enabled for long periods, but used only when debugging specific problems with the web interface. |
Default Value
The default is 0, that is, do not log the full TCPGUI command line.
