Founded in 1997, KIDNEY-ONC is one of more than 100 LISTSERV email lists hosted by the Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR) and connects some 2000 subscribers in more than a dozen countries, spanning patients with kidney cancer and their caregivers, researchers and healthcare providers, including top kidney cancer experts. The list is a key contributor to the body of knowledge on the disease and the e-patient movement.

By design, LISTSERV makes it as easy as possible for subscribers to leave a LISTSERV list. In previous tech tips, we have discussed how to add one-click unsubscribe links to list messages (Issue 4, 2005). Starting with LISTSERV 16.0, LISTSERV does this by default for new lists. With the release of LISTSERV Maestro 5.0 in December, the process of editing the placeholder values of click-and-fill HTML newsletter templates has been greatly simplified. The new user interface combines logically related placeholders into repeated field groups, making it much easier to work with templates with a complex structure.
