Coming Soon in LISTSERV® 17.5: Single Sign-On (SSO) with SAML Support

LISTSERV 17.5

The SSO SAML support in LISTSERV improves user authentication by allowing single sign-on integration through the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) protocol. This feature integrates LISTSERV with existing identity providers (IdPs), facilitating a unified login experience and authentication process across multiple platforms.

How it works:

When a user attempts to log in to the LISTSERV web interface, the Service Provider (SP) sends a SAML request to the Identity Provider (IdP) of choice. After the IdP authenticates the user's identity, it sends the SAML assertion back to the SP, containing an attribute that corresponds to the user's email address. This email address will then be used by LISTSERV to generate a login token for the underlying user and grant the user access to the resources.

Other new features and improvements in LISTSERV 17.5 include:

  • Extensive security and accessibility improvements
  • Support for multiple Captcha solutions for an added layer of protection from bots
  • Rate-limiting settings to safeguard the web interface from bots and abuse
  • Support for the one-click unsubscribe mechanism (RFC 8058)
  • Simplified and customizable standalone subscription screens
  • Improved integration and connectivity with LISTSERV Maestro
  • Modernized HTML mail templates and confirmation emails
  • Simplified and modernized list creation templates
  • New versions of Jquery, Jquery-UI and Tablesorter
  • Option to hide X and Y tokens from all URLs for extra security
