Decades of Knowledge Sharing Across the Nordic and Baltic Regions
What does long-term, cross-border collaboration look like in practice?
For a community of physicians and scientists working in hospital laboratories, it means having a trusted network always within reach. Since the late 1990s, this LISTSERV community has connected professionals across the Nordic and Baltic regions – providing timely answers, shared expertise and ongoing support.
Here is how one of its long-time contributors describes it in his own words.
"We established a community for physicians and scientists working in hospital laboratories in the late 1990s. It rapidly grew to include colleagues from the Nordic (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) and Baltic (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) countries," says Anders Kallner, Associate Professor at Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.
"By now, we are about 700 participants – likely a large majority of those in the field," he adds.
"The LISTSERV blends nicely into the background; it is always there, and its reliability and ease of use are greatly appreciated. New messages are notified, and a typical question is often answered within an hour or two. We have received great help from the local LISTSERV staff and international support when needed."
Forty years of LISTSERV means forty years of people, communities and connections. Were you part of that journey? We'd love to hear your story.
